Cajun Grits
Prep Time: 10 min    Cook Time: 20 min

Ingredients:
  • 13 oz  Hilshire Farms Smoked Sausage
  • 1/2 c.Heavy whipping Cream
  • 12 oz Medium shrimp
  • 2 Slices of bacon ( crumbled)
  • 1/4 c. Onion (diced)
  • 2/3 c.Orange bell pepper (diced)
  • 2 Roman Tomatoes (dices)
  • 2 Tsp Minced garlic 
  • 1 Tsp Garlic pepper salt mix ( Dollar Tree)
  • 1 Tsp Creole Seasoning
  • 1 Tsp Old Bay
  • 1 c. 5 Minute Grits 
  • 4 c.Milk
  • 6 oz.Pepper jack cheese
  • 2 TB Stick of Butter
  • 1 TB Parsley

Directions:

  • Add 2 tbs of butter.
  • After, the butter is melted, add diced onion.
  • Add the bell pepper, sauté.
  • Add the diced Roma tomatoes.
  • Sprinkle minced garlic over mixture.
  • Add the shrimp. Sauté
  • Sprinkle the food with garlic pepper salt, creole seasoning and old bay
  • Add the heavy whipping cream.
  • Add the cheese.
  • Sprinkle parsley on the sauce.
  • Simmer for 10 minutes.
  • Remove from the stove. Let the mixture thicken.

Grits:
  1. Add the grits to a pot.
  2. Pour in milk. Stir
  3. Add salt.
  4. Place lid on the pot; Constantly stirring.
  5. After the grits have thicken. Set aside.
  6. Put the grits on a plate. Make a well.
  7. Pour sauce over the grits.
  8. Garnish with bacon. Serve.
